El complejo / The Complex
Este mes hemos firmado un contrato con el abogado/ gestor y arquitectos por un estudio financiero y arquitectónico que va a darnos los costes mas un sistema  de pagamentos. Entonces podemos difundir y hablar si podamos seguir o no.
En el otoño, vamos a reunirse con todos y haya una oportunidad de ver el complejo y como arreglar.
Después tenemos que formar la cooperativa par comprar el complejo.
Ahora hay una encuesta aquí para informarnos los deseos e intereses de todos. Por supuesto los datos son solamente para el uso de la asociación y no vamos a compartir con otras empresas .
We have now signed a contract with the lawyer/ gestor / and architects to prepare a financial and architectural study for the complex we are hoping to buy in Almuñécar . This is a huge step forward and we are very excited. Of course many people want to know more about the costs and we are asking for the most basic expenditure needed to update the building, and the costs of converting parts of the complex into more, or bigger apartments. This could include the option of buying outright if we have enough cooperative members, or obtaining finance for all or part.
We hope to be able to present more information in the autumn combined with a visit to the building. If you would like a visit before then, it may be possible to arrange, so please let us know.
In the meantime we have devised a little online poll here for you to contribute to the development of the project. This will not commit you in any way but will give us an idea about priorities when devising the statutes, and we will not share the data beyond this group.

The next step

We are now ready to commission a financial study and an architectural survey. With this information we can work out the cost of buying shares in the cooperative (i.e. a lifetime right to live in an apartment) and estimate the monthly community charges. The architectural study will find out if any repairs and renovations are needed and estimate the costs of adding more apartments, if needed, to make the project more economically viable.

April News

We had a well attended visit to the Johanneswerk complex in Almuñécar on 9th April. There were people from Nerja and Salobreña and beyond, including people from the Belgian, German and UK communities.
We had time to discuss the Association’s progress, our aims and new ideas brought along by the participants. Generally people thought the apartments were good and the complex has much to offer, although the costs of buying into the cooperative and running costs, i.e. the community charge, is not yet known.
From this meeting, we hope that people can persuade more members to join so we can fund the financial and architects study which will give us give more definite information.
Membership and bank payment forms were given to everyone, and copies of the light hearted quiz to see if people are ready for co-housing. As a result of this meeting we hope to hold separate meetings for the different language groups, when necessary, in the future.
When we have sufficient members we will commission the study, but without enough funds we will not be able to continue.  On revisiting the complex, some of us felt even more sure that it will be a good prospect for living in. Early birds (people who join now) will have an advantage over later arrivals, if we are able to buy the complex, in that they will be able to have first choice of living space. The current membership fees are seed money and may be at risk; but if not sufficient for the study, the money will be returned, less any outgoings.

Visiting the complex and becoming a member

We are organising a visit  to the complex that we are interested in on Monday 9th April at 11 am. Please get in touch to confirm your attendance, and we can give you details of directions etc. by emailing: unavidabuena2016@gmail.com

We had a good meeting on 21st March with new people interested. In order to pay for a financial study and architects report on the complex we need more people who want to become members of the association. Preliminary visits suggest that it is in good condition and good value. We have outline permission from the town hall if we need to modify the interior, eg to provide more apartments. After these reports are done it will be clearer how much it will cost to become a member of the Cooperative and buy lifetime rights to occupy an apartment.

We now have a Bank account and we are asking for an initial joining fee of € 600 plus a subscription of €240 per year. This will pay for the financial study and membership until the cooperative is formed. Please contact us by email at unavidabuena2016@gmail.com for more information.

Pues esperamos que este atraído por la posibilidad de una comunidad para envejecerse con alegría y salud.
Sin embargo no podemos seguir sin mas socios que estén dispuesta  contribuir a los costes de un estudio financiero y arquitectónico que nos falta por decidir los costes de comprar y las cuentas comunitarias. Por eso se ruega que considera ser Socio de la asociación. Pedimos €600 para unirse , y €240 por año o € 20 por mes si prefiere. Meeting with the Ayuntamiento

Today we held a meeting with the Mayor of Almunecar and the Concejales de Urbanismo y Servicios Sociales about the building that we are interested in. The meeting was set up at the suggestion of Antonio Gonzalez who is an abogado/gestor with experience in managing residential cooperative projects for the over 55s.

Our new president, Norma Lampkin Hall attended along with Frances Gillard, our Vice President.

At the meeting the town hall agreed to investigate the licensing of these premises and to explore the building regulations. When they have more information they will inform us and this will help us make a considered decision as to whether to go ahead with this building.

Hoy hacemos una reunión con el Alcalde de Almuñécar y el Concejales de Urbanismo y Servicios Sociales sobre el edificio que nos interesa. La reunión fue creada por sugerencia de Antonio González,  un abogado / gestor con experiencia en la gestión de proyectos cooperativos residenciales para los mayores de 55+ años.

Nuestro nueva presidenta, Norma Lampkin Hall asistió junto con Frances Gillard, nuestra Vicepresidenta.

En la reunión, el ayuntamiento acordó investigar la concesión de licencias de estas instalaciones y explorar las normas de construcción. Cuando tengan más información, nos informarán y esto nos ayudará a tomar una decisión respecto de si seguir adelante con este edificio.

Feria de Asociaciones 2018

IMG_4173Fue un día de alegría y sol. Los socios de nuestra asociación han empezado muy pronto para arreglar el puesto, que ya estaba construido por el Ayuntamiento, al lado de las bolilleras….¡menos mal, porque nuestra presidenta es de ellas también!
Nuestras socios, que hablan en muchas idiomas incluyendo, Español, Inglés , Alemán, Noruego, y Francés , estaban ocupados casi todo el día con el público que quería saber mas del proyecto nuestro.
Los fotos del complejo tenían interés de los de Almuñécar tanto como los extranjeros y los Españoles de otras partes. Había mucha gente que quería recibir más noticias sobre Una Vida Buena especialmente cuando tengamos información sobre los precios de una aportación en la cooperativa y costes mensuales. El grupo va a empezar con el estudio financiero y arquitectónico pronto, pero por supuesto nos falta socios para apoyar con el desarrollo del proyecto.
Al final del día , algunas de los socios unían en el coro y en el baile zumba y en línea. ¡Que alegría!
